I have a Motorola Electrify 2.3.5.
I rooted it using the instructions at http://androidforums.com/electrify-...t-motorola-electrify-2-3-5-dummies-guide.html
It rooted successfully, I then used MyBackup Root to back up the Applications & Media then it asked me where I wanted to back it up to and I selected "Local (/mnt/sdcard-ext)"
It was towards the end of backing up and the battery died.
I then restarted my phone and opened up Astro which is a file explorer program.. I navigated to "/mnt" and told it to delete "sdcard-ext"
It spent a while deleting it so I thought it froze.. so I turned off the phone and turned it back on.. then realized that I store my pictures on the sd card and may have deleted them.
Sure enough when I open gallery it says All photos 986 items.. I had around 1,500 or more... is it possible to get them back?
Also videos it says 5 items.. I had 17 I believe.
Is it possible to recover any of this from my backup or using any 3rd party program?
I realize how dumb this must sound but if anyone could help me that would be great.
I also hope this is in the right forum if it is sorry I didn't mean to.
More info:
When I click on Files and select Internal phone storage then "dcim" it says ".thumbnails" has 1,823 items and "Camera" has 0 items.
If I go back and select "SD Card" instead of internal phone storage, and I click DCIM then Camera it says 105 items.
Also in the SD card folder there is a folder named rerware it has 3 folders named AllAppsBackups, AllBackups, temp.
AllAppsBackups contains one folder named "AppsMedia_2012_05_25"
Then within that there's a folder named Apps with 288 items when I go through it I can tell some of them are Adobe Flash Player, Avast, Best Buy, Ebay, etc.
Now going back to the folder called MyBackup which contains the 3 folders I mentioned earlier.. the one named temp has 171 items some of them are called things like "ccc71.bmw" "com.accuweather.android" "com.adobe.flashplayer", etc.
There is nothing in the rerware folder that goes to my pictures or videos.
Also when I go to Gallery then click My library then click All photos there are a whole bunch of pictures of fish.. they look like they're from an application or something.. one of them is named "2" and it's 102x79 and is 3.17KB and the date says May 25, 2012.
These pictures of fish were not on there until after I decided to be dumb and try to delete the sdcard-ext folder.
All I want is my pictures and videos back.
I haven't taken any new pictures or videos since then.
Also the sdcard I'm using is 16gb I believe.
So is it possible to get them back if so how?
