Root Need help finding system update stored file.

My phone somehow downloaded the JB 4.1.2 update and it continually asks if I want to install it. I do NOT want the update. How can I get rid of the downloaded file. I don't want to accidentally allow it to install it.

I have never done it.

I have seen references that say the only way to do it is to root your phone and rename the file from .apk to .bak.

The phone is rooted. Where is the file located? I don't want the update on the outside chance if I loose Root I won't be able to get it back. At this time there is no root for that version.
