Root need help i bricked my stylo

Mine also says first_status 6.

I edited my Hosts file and rebooted without a problem. I even removed some system apps...

I used an app to move Superuser after I installed it because I thought if it was a system app it would be able to update the binaries but I didn't even see it in /system/app before I rebooted... strange I thought, but I just figured FX wasn't refreshing the file list. I'm assuming the problem was installing Busybox. The installer probably overrote some of the system stuff.

Most likely. And LAF makes it impossible to write anything to any partition. And because it's stock recovery there is no adb access. It's a headache. I'd suggest just sending it back and getting a new one if you're covered, and if not send it to LG.

I bought it from a Boost retailer as an upgrade from my LG Volt running CM12.1. I paid about $150 total for the phone, switching fee, and a ZiZo case about a month ago. I probably should have added insurance to that...

I still have a VM LG F3 laying around running stock.... I think they have CM11 out for it. ;]

I'm not saying add the $7 insurance and use your other phone for a month to a half and then call for a replacement.... but it could be an option.

I dbl checked what you said. I guess I was mistaken. I had bricked my phone doing a reset after temp kingroot and a bunch of build.prop edits and gapps deletions. I called LG they gave me a prepaid label, it took about 10 days total shipping fixing and return and I just got it back. I wish you guys go0d luck, I'm still gonna mess around on the root periphery, but really don't want to brick again.

The thought accured to me. I'm trying the Untouched 6.0.1 for Boost mentioned above.

I found something cool: if you press V+ V- and PWR it shows a scanable barcode and your IMEI. I also was able to get to a completely different Factory Reset other then Recovery. When I choose Yes it showed the Android guy laying down like he was having surgery and it said Resetting. It only lasted a second and rebooted to the same error and LG logo. I couldn't get back to that however now when I choose wipe data/factory reset it shows the Android guy instead of the script output of it wiping data.

And I thought I'd brick it when I changed the resolution to 1080x1920 with ADB. It wasn't that much better and the recent task square was misaligned. I definatly suggest setting your DPI to 270 though.

How might I ask? All the factory reset does is run wiping text and send it back to the LG recovery screen to reboot where you get the same Secure Boot error.

See I couldn't even get that I got Status 7 and it wouldn't let me flash. And I can only flash from adb. Recovery can't mount sdcard so no update.zip through it.

If we could just find a way to write to partitions through Download mode we'd be straight but until then yeah, you should just go to the LG website and request a repair and send it to them.

I know this been a while now but did you unbrick your stylo? I may have a solution if you still have it

Can you help me.... I may have hard bricked my phone.... Same phone and id... Won't power on.... CPU makes a sound when I unplug it so I'm guessing the phone can be fixed....any ideas..??

If your on Boost or Virgin and had Android 6.0 you will NEED to send your phone to LG. It's free, they email you the shipping label. You just need to print the label, sign the agreement, get a small box ($1 at walmart), some bubble wrap or newspaper, and then drop it off at a FedEx shipping place.

Request a repair at LG's website:
https://www.lg.com/us/support/repair-service/schedule-repair

...don't admit to trying to root it, just say you got a system update and after that it rebooted with the secure boot error. They will reflash it and ship it back in about a week. You can track the repair process on thier website. Remember to take off your screen protector!
Wrong its not free its about 40$-50$

Hi, I have an lg g540, it stuck I boot loop. Pc won't recognise and I can't enter download mode. It happened after trying to root with the lg root tool. Can anyone help? All I can do is enter fastboot mode.

Do you have fastboot drivers installed on your pc ?
There are directions to get out of your situation in another thread with a header describing a fix to your predicament.
If you have fastboot drivers in your pc...if not..the said thread probably has a link or directions to getting them..
