Need help i cant use my facebook in my android

im using sony ericsson w8.. and i already downloaded the application (facebook) and i cant login... even though i have a wifi in my home.. sorry but im new in android..anyone can help me? regarding this?

Did you download the official Facebook app? Do you have extra security set up for your Facebook account, like a SMS sent to your phone when an unknown device logs in? Can you access Facebook from the phone's browser?
when i created my google account on my phone i receive a notice of updates for example facebook,twitter, google map... etc.. then i install all the said updates then i already have the facebook in my icon list.. but when i tried to log in it says that.. ( An error occured during the sign in. Please try again later.) does the facebook working in wifi? or a plan?
