Help need help in identifying this part for htc one

It depends on what is on the piece of motherboard. If you are lucky and it's just a bit of substrate with no tracks in it (possible if a small section at the very edge) then it is possible. Otherwise you'll have broken electrical connections, reflections of signals from the breaks, and while it depends on where the break is what will not work I will guarantee that it won't be fully functional.

I'm not sure from the photo what is broken. I think it's the mounting tab (screw hole) at the bottom right of your photo, but it's hard to see for sure. If it's just the screw hole I'd think that's the place they'd be least likely to put circuitry (and I'd hope they'd use something a little more definite than the screw for earthing!), so you might be OK. No guarantees though.
