Need help! Phone keeps shutting off!

I have a rooted Nexus 4 and every now and then, the phone keeps shutting itself off and it won't turn on again until after a few attempts or by going into bootloader mode. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

It's a stock ROM, I've been experiencing the issue for the last 3 days, it doesn't happen while I'm using any app. It just simply turns itself off sometimes while the phone is not in use.

Do you see the phone shut down? Or is it just off when you pick it up?

Two things come to mind if it just goes off without a proper shutdown. Either it's a failing battery or some sort of thermal protection circuit that kills the power.

Just thinking out load.

I believe the last app I installed was Game Killer.

(I don't see a "game killer" app in the play store.)

According to Google, it's an app to hack games.

It has shut off twice before when using that app but now it only happens when the phone is idle.

(As Lion said, it's an app that hacks games.)

Nope. So I guess that's the problem? Well I'll uninstall the app and see how things go over the next few days. If the problem still persists, I'll tap back to ask for more help. If not, thanks for your help!

Could be... worth uninstalling and giving it a try

If uninstalling that single app doesn't do the trick, you may also want to try rebooting into safe mode to make sure it's not another app causing problems. That's a good step to take before performing a more drastic last-ditch factory reset. :thumbup:
