Help Need help restoring firmware then updating

Mrozzy123

Lurker
Hi everyone.

I'm wanting a little help on how to firstly restore my galaxy s4 then updating it to the latest firmware 4.3.

I have a galaxy s4 Rooted on 4.2.2.
I have a lot of crap on it so i wanted to do a fresh install.

I have an unlocked s4 so i can use BTU firmware in United Kingdom (UK).

I wanted some help on how i should go about this and what software etc i should use.

My baseband version is i9505XXUBMEA. Would this need to be the same as the new one that i will be upgrading to 4.3 ?

All the help will be much apreciated.

P.s. i'v searched a lot of places and articles are not that clear. I hope someone can help me out here.

Thanks

Ozzy

Hello and welcome to Android Forums Mrozzy123! :)

Lets see if we can help...

Hi everyone.

Your rooted International, GT-i9505, on Android 4.2.2 on unbranded UK firmware is currently Knox Security free and if you wish to root in future, you should NOT flash the latest Android 4.3 stock Samsung firmware released recently. See, Knox Security & locked bootloader on new firmwares for more details.

My baseband version is i9505XXUBMEA. Would this need to be the same as the new one that i will be upgrading to 4.3 ?

Your baseband shows the version of modem/radio installed with the firmware and can differ from the actual firmware release and details. For more information on locating your firmware details and what they mean, see, 18 Galaxy S4 models - know yours?.

My advice, if you wish to carry on rooting, would be to consider flashing one of the latest Android 4.3 Modified stock ROMs that are Knox Security free and retain the unlocked bootloader, such as DjeMBeY or Echoe ROMs that are shown in the International's All Things Root section of the forum.

Grab a coffee and start reading as those links will bring you up to speed.
