Help Need help rooting Note 4 (AT&T)

So I upgraded a few months ago to s7 from my note 4. Held onto and unlocked the note 4 for overseas travel and have been using s7 for a few months. But I don't like the size and buggy nature of the phone.

I do like some of the nuances though and would like to know if I can get my note 4 to look and operate similarly to the s7 without all the buggy features.

AND can I go back to my note 4 if I don't like the s7 "upgrade"?

That's what I thought but if you read enough forums, your eyes become blurred to the information. Some say they have rooted, some (like you) say you can't and if you attempt you'll brick the phone. Is it really just an AT&T thing? What if I swapped my unlocked phone with an unlocked verizon Note 4. Does that mean that I would be able to use it on AT&T after rooting or whatever would need to be done to get it to accept the S7 platform/ROM or whatever its called?!!

If you plan on using the AT&T network and want a Note 4 that you can root, install a custom recovery and run custom Roms, go with T-Mobile version.
I don't own a Note, but from what I've read, it is the easiest and some custom Roms available

Well, it's January, 2018, and I'm still hoping that somebody here has any news as to whether the AT&T Galaxy Note 4 is able to be rooted yet.
