I've read so much on this forum (re: rooting SGS)... that as of now, I'm totally confused ! with what I have to download for my particular I9000. To give some history ..... I've recently upgraded from 2.2 Froyo to 2.3.3 Gingerbread via the official Kies upgrade .. that presumably OPTUS put out.
I'm brand new at this ! and want to make sure that I use the appropriate method & software .... to initially root my phone so that I am able to use Titanium Backup etc; and would like to flash one of the custom ROMS at a later stage (say 2.3.4).
I have attached a photo of my current firmware so you can see exactly what's installed, the confusing thing for me is that it refers to XXJVQ & XWJVN ?? so I'm not sure of what rooting file etc; I need. I know it will be pretty obvious to you guy's and you'll think I'm a "pratt" for asking .... but I guess you've got to start somewhere !!
Would really appreciate a detailed "HowTo" or any other info .... thanks in advance ....
