i have an updated optimus m with android 2.2.1 and z4root doesnt work on this phone anymore..anyone know how to root the phone with the new update?? thanks for your input!

Tons of threads about 2.2.1 not being able to root. Best bet is to downgrade to 2.2. Like here:

One guy says he is able to root 2.2.1, but it does not seem to be consistent. Others have triend and cannot. Still, go read the thread. Maybe you will be lucky.
