Need help setting the myMail app

I have downloaded the myMail app but can't get it to set up anything but my Gmail account. When I use the Other Mail option and put in my earthlink.net address and password or my comcast.net address and password it always informs me that the user name or password is incorrect.
I'm sure I'm missing something but I can't see what it is.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Rick

I'm also using MyMail, my preference now after a few others I tried.

Hmmm, I can't recall which email account I had it connect to first. gmail or yahoo, but it worked perfectly the first time on each.

what I have noticed though, is the stock keyboard is twitchy and entering passwords is an abomination. You cannot have ANY extra characters present in the password or account lines.

That means no spaces, no 'backing up' to correct an error, tab keys, etc.
every single one of those keystrokes is interpreted to be an input on that line.

this means that when you enter the name, you go outside that field before you touch anything else. scroll the screen up a bit if necessary, or I usually use the 'clear key' to erase the keyboard off the screen (works best IMO), then touch the password space to bring up the keyboard.

when the last character is entered for the password, use the 'clear key' to make the keyboard vanish and then you touch the SUBMIT key or whatever word they use for that function.

My bank accounts drove me crazy until I installed SwiftKey and then turned OFF the stock keyboard altogether.

Hope this helps.

do you have POP access to the other email accounts, if you don't that is probably the problem.

Some email accounts only work via web access.

I just experienced yet another example of the passwords not working when entered from the phone's keyboard.

"My Verizon" kept insisting that I login to my account from the phone even though I had not opened their app.
I know the password to that account by heart, but the mobile app will NOT accept it even though it is correct. I finally went to the website and looked at the account, there is nothing there that needs attention. Why the phone thinks I need to login there is beyond me at the moment. I "fixed it" by restarting the phone.

However, that will not fix your MyMail new account setup problem.

I am sure that even though you think you have entered the password correctly, that somehow, a strange unseen character was inserted. It is very frustrating when that happens, especially with bank accounts as mine only allow 3 attempts and the account is locked period.... no access via the web until you talk to a bank official and get it reset.

Yes, all my accounts are POP except Gmail. They work fine in the stock email app but I just can't get myMail to accept the user name and password.
