Help Need Help setting up secure wifi connection on TP

My TP picks up my dlink dir655 router signal perfectly, but it is an open connection. During setup on Prime, it asks for network ssid and then a security line. Choices are wep, wpa/wpa2 PSK and 802.1x EAP. SSID for dlink is "dlink". I have tried each security setting then adding the password which is the pin # under the router. What am I doing wrong? The pin worked when I used it with my HP laptop. I want it to be a secure connection with the little lock next to my wifi signal.

I don't know whether I'm understanding your question, but the security code is set up on your modem, not on the Prime. The Prime simply detects whether a connection is secure or open.

There should be a factory code sticker on the router that has the type(such as WEP) and then a string of digits and or numbers next to it. The string is the security code.

People had been using my open wifi signal and disabled the security. I went to dlink site entered my model number and updated all new info including new password that I made up instead of the one I had been using from dlink. I have a secure connection now. Thanks.
