Help Need help SPH-M820-BST android 2.3.6

WarSxNes

Newbie
Ok, first I'm new in this world of android.

I have a samsung galaxy prevail with the follow specs:

Model: SPH-M820-BST
Android: 2.3.6
Kernel: 2.6.35.7
Hardware Version: M820.07

My problem is I get a warning sign that say "low space".

I tried move some apps. But I notice not all of them can't be moved, and apps that can be moved the android doesn't move all the app's file.

---------------------------

As I said, I'm a noob and my engrish doesn't help me =( my bad.

I was reading some posts, but they are too difficult to understand for a noob like me >.<

Now, I know something called "root" exist. But I have no idea how to do this, also how to "root" my cell phone without lose all my data.

I don't understand why the people who designed this cell phone and the OS didn't test it before release it. xD

Technically I have this problem because the cell phone I have is from [boost mobile] and this have a lot pre-installed apps, and after I downloaded and installed one app, the rest of the apps pre-installed started to update.

(like, maps, gps, youtube, facebook, etc.) then that disgusting warning sign appeared, and sometimes is too sloOooOow.

1st- You are gonna need to root your phone.

2nd- You are gonna need to install a ROM that has or offers a way to move app data to your sd card. I recommend checking out either CTMod or CM7.

CTMod- http://androidforums.com/galaxy-prevail-all-things-root/432614-rom-ctmod-3-80-04-06-13-a.html

CM7- http://androidforums.com/galaxy-pre...anogenmod-7-unofficial-beta-5-02-20-12-a.html

LOL. Bro I rooted the Prevail the 1st week the phone came out several years ago.

Also, Odin is the best way to root the Prevail IMO. It's noob proff as long as the NOOB follows the directions. Also, It's almost impossible to brick a phone when you have Odin.

True. Thats why I love samsung.

Yup. Odin has saved my butt quite a few times. lol Thankfully my 1st Android was a Prevail. I learned much from this forum that has saved my tail on many occasions with my other devices. :D

Htc is pretty easy too but you haft to write command pronmt lines.

I wiped a phone one time using cmd promt and booted it then realized I forgot to install a recovery.

5 mins and no more brick.

Yeah. You can work wonders with fastboot and ADB. You lose those and you're screwed. LOL :D
