Root Need help unbricking my LG Optimus F3

alpha125

Newbie
Can someone help me unbrick my lg optimus f3? it's stuck on a boot loop between the lg logo and the t-mobile splash screen . and kdz DOES NOT work for me it always gives me the error code ( WParam: 100 LParam: 64, WParam: 100 LParam: 0 ) and I've tryed using kdz on two different computers both with windows 8.1 and with the T-Mobile stock firmware (P659) and the MetroPCS one too. The phone was rooted like a month before the boot loop thing and i had link2sd with a ton of apps in the sd card. my (big) brother started taping and moving stuff and the it got bricked.

Have you looked through the sticky "various unbrick errors"? That's where I'd start.

After chasing my brother with a broom, of course. :D :D
I`ve checked that, ive searched on other threads for different types of phones, ive searched the web and nothing i only found a post on the lg f3 unbricking thread wich the person had my same problem but no ome had helped him. To this day (my phone got bricked on june/july) i havent found a succesful unbricking method, and i still havent found out what is causirng the error.

yeah and kickin his ass. LOL!

I had some similar troubles/errors in applying the latest firmware version. One of the things that is easy to think is going wrong but has just not been done correctly is setting the phone to emergency mode. The key I found to accomplishing this task was to in addition to holding the up volume button while powering on you need to plug the phones usb cable in just as the phone is powering on. Otherwise emergency mode is never reached and the other modes you find yourself in are not going to help in accomplishing the task you set out to accomplish. There is an alternate way besides KDZ_FW_UPD but I think this way is just as good/better just so long as your able to have your handset in the appropriate mode. Please excuse my not including the other method it has been awhile and it really seems this is the culprit to the challenges your facing alpha125.

For a temporary fix, I used the MetroPCS KDZ to make this whole thing happen on my thread:

Code:
http://androidforums.com/metropcs-t-mobile-optimus-f3-all-things-root/812528-guide-unbrick-unroot-lg-optimus-f3-kdz.html

I mean, it's not the BEST thing, and my rear Camera is not working right now, BUT I do have the ability to move stuff to the SD card ... so.. it's not horrid...

If you have service for it, probably not the best method, mine is not in service so I use GrooVeIP

Okay, so does the word "megalock" mean anything to you? ;)

Seriously, it's really going to be a long and painful thread if you aren't more forthcoming.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not about to spend lots of time detailing a solution only to get a four-word response a la "tried that, what else?"

So how about telling us EXACTLY what you have tried? Then we can actually move forward and we won't waste a lot of time on ground that may have been covered. :)

Thanks and good luck.

Ok, what I've tried is:

KDZ_FW_UPDATE

It always gives me the same error, "WParam: 100 LParam:64 WParam: 100 LParam: 0"

This is the log:

15:37:38 : Launching SW update

15:41:02 : ResetStartInfo() Call End

In the log file it says MS65910c_00, which is the metropcs rom but it gives me the same error with P65910b rom
I've tried this method with two different computers both Windows 8.1 anti-virus disabled.

LG Support Tool:

It just wouldn't update.

Now Im trying with the LG Flash Tool, i have the .dll for the lg P659 but I can't create the .bin I need to use the LG Flash Tool because there's a file that ends in .wdb which apparently has a password or is protected somehow and I don't know how to unprotect it.

Yes "megalock" is .dll file that is needed to use the KDZ_FW_UPDATE, what does it do... I don't know.

Going by what little I could understand (very poorly worded/copied) from the Unbrick thread, I found these steps to be what let me wipe my ROM. Note: I wasn't actually bricked, however I did some bad stuff with L2SD and wanted a clean slate, but it worked in both Emergency Mode and after I was able to boot. Oh and I didn't Have to disable my AV.

You'll need the KDZ.zip file and the .KDZ file. I downloaded the phone drivers directly from LG (use their support to find the phone and they're there). Unzip the KDZ.zip file as you need this to be in a normal folder (can act screwy if not). Ignore most of the instructions and Don't follow the included instructions. Lots of bad copy/paste ju-ju involved. Unless you're using say XP or Vista, then you don't need to install that .msi file.

To get into Emergency Mode, from Off, hold the Volume Up and insert the usb cable (with other end already attached to the computer. You'll see the message popup that they've shown in the thread. You need to choose "3GQCT" and "Emergency" with the "P65910b_05.kdz" file as your source. Hit the "Launch Software Update" button and let it keep going even if it looks like it's stalled. When it's done rebooting, do a Factory Reset. That'll flush crap out of the memory and the phone in general.

If the phone actually boots, then do the above, but choose "Diag(nostic)" instead of "Emergency".

Annnnd after writing all that (and rescrolling the thread) I think you've done this already. :-/

Have you tried uninstalling your phone drivers and deleting the "C:\ProgramData\LGMOBILEAX\Phone\" folder? Maybe it's the method tried being different, but I don't actually have that folder and if there's bad data in there, then it could be an issue I'm sure.
