What file system are the drives formatted in?

For Android devices, removable storage should be FAT32, or ExFAT(if the device is Android 6 or later).

most projectors that i have worked with, will not store files anyways so there is no need to write to the projector. reading is fine. you can plug in a flash drive and be able to use the projector to show the content of the drive. why do you need to write onto the projector?

Yeh, many projectors are really designed to do one thing, i.e. project, and are not intended for doing things like file management.

Could be this particular projector was intended to only mount removable storage in read only mode, as it's only for showing/projecting the videos and pictures that are on the attached hard-drive?
