Need Help With Apps2SD

I am having trouble getting this set up correctly.

I followed the instructions formatting the sd card and it seemed like the ext2 partition set up correctly, but after running appd2sd the phone just hangs on the flashing android. Does it take forever to reboot after running this? I only had maybe 10 apps on the phone to move to the sd card. I wound up wiping the phone after 30 minutes of waiting.

If I look at the drive in partition manager, the ext2 partition no longer shows up. It appears to only see the fat 32 partition.

I'm at a loss as what to do here? I tried deleting the fat32 partition, but nothing I do seems to let me see the other area of the card to verify the ext2 part.

I am running jf-1.5, and using paragon partition manager 9 in Vista.

I used Paragon Partition Manager to format & Partition the FAT32 & EXT2in partitions.... This was done in an external reader... (not in the Phone)

I used the market app "AppsToSD" to do the rest of the grunt work ...

I have 280+ apps ... running Devolio's mod'd ROM of JF ADP 1.5

all is well with mine ... I used "Mybackups Pro" to backup all my apps, data, and phone settings before running "AppsToSD"

Then I (and you may) need to Download the app "MyBackup Pro"
and run it to restore all data and settinig so the programs all work

I did everything the same as you did, except that I did not use an external reader. The only one I have does not seem to recognize the sd card, and I'm not sure if the problem is with the card reader, the adapter, the card itself, or some sort of vista wonkiness (this machine has always been very finicky about how it plays with other devices). <sigh>

I guess I will try a new card reader.

OOOOH I i didnt use my Wonky Vista Laptop .... I did it with XP Laptop

Your card reader might not read SDHC cards. I have various cards and readers and only some card readers read the newer SDHC cards instead of the smaller SD.

On the subject of partitioning the SD card, I followed this to get my card partitioned correctly, which worked fine for me. I just typed all the commands on the G1's keyboard.
