Root Need help with drivers for OMs690

Ive downloaded and installed/uninstalled many drivers for my lg optimus ms690 2.2.2 im trying to root my android but my pc keeps saying error with the installed software & doesnt connect my phone. my pc has windows xp 2002 service pack 2.

I found my problem... the right driver is metropcs LGOptimusMS690 driver. I cant intall it because i need the runtime 11 update and i cant dowload it. I always get the cryptography is off error on my pc. I tried everything to fix it but the only way is to reinstall my windows xp package, which i dont have.... -_-
