need help with emoticons

hi, i need help with displaying emoticons on the messages screen. By accidental press, it changed. Now, when I choose the emot picture, i get a shortcut ':-(' on the screen.. How to make my smilies' pic back on the text screen?

The emoticons should only show when you actually send the message, they should not be present while writing the actual message itself.

Bus, as i said before, previously (before accidental press) emots were displayed on the text screen.
