Root need help with market

okay, so I messed up and accidently deleted the market. i tried to download and reinstall the vending.apk file and it does not install. I did notice that if I installed the team_chicken_eaters custom rom, the market it back and it works fine but I dont want to continue to use this rom and when I try to flash another rom, the market is once again, not there. any help would be greatly appreciated. lg optimus m (obviously rooted) 2.2.1
 
I replaced my app market recently by removing the apk in system/apps and pasting the new one in there. I had to reboot and that was that. Have you tried putting the vending apk in that folder? Search for 'installing ice market ' for a good tutorial.

Another fix I ised on my chinese tablet was sending a marketlink of a random free application by email and opening it on the device. The tablet installed the market once opening the link.

You can also ask the makers of your custom firmware of choice how to add applications that get installed when flashing. You probably just have to unzip, place market app in a certain folder and zip again. Then flash the rom.
