Need help with ringtone and wallpaper

Hi,

I am new to droid market. If anybody can help me how to make apk file from mp3/ringtone?

also how to make apk from wallapers?

Appreciate any help.

You cant make an apk, that is a program install file. You can get ringdroid from the market to make ringtones.

You can open any picture and either long press on it, or hit menu button while on picture and select it as a wallpaper.

Your ringtones would go in sd card/media/audio/ringtones.

30 second mp3s work pretty well.

well that is why I am trying to do application file from ringtone or wallpaper, so that I can distribute it on the market. People who upload there ringtone and wallpaper in the market is basically uploading apk file.

That is why I want to know how to make apk from ringtone.

Again, ringtones and static wallpapers are not apps. Ringtones (as well as notifications and alarms) are just audio files; usually mp3, but could be .wav. Live Wallpapers are apps and have to be coded. Static wallpapers are just pictures (i.e. jpg's, png, etc.). You can't turn them into apps because your ringtone and wallpaper are just files on the phone that the OS links as ringer, alarm, etc.

Could you tell me how I can make ringtone package into mp3. I know ringtone is not an app. But everything you have on android is pak format , to install ringtone even it has to be in apk form. So if you know how to turn wav or. mp3 into apk package. I was basically asking about that question.

Download "Ringdroid (Social Edition)"

There are two versions, the one I mentioned is the one you want. From there you can create a username and create Ringtones. Its also an audio file editing software, so if you have an MP3 song on your phone, you can take that track and shorten it at ANY part of the song and make a ringtone out of it. Its really easy. When you download it search for me, leo9891. There are other people who upload ringtones aswell, you can browse or search for them. Also it allows you to make notification sounds, for text messages and other things like email alerts or Alarms.

EDIT: I just like the fact that I can make ringtones straight from my phone and upload them aswell. I used to use my PC to create then and then have to transfer it to my phone. This is less of a hassle.

BTW, its just a simple editing software, if you wanna do more such as fading in and out and other effects, stick with using a PC to do that kind of stuff.

You can not make an apk from a ringtone. A ringtone is an mp3 file (a few other sound formats will also work). You can package a ringtone in a zip file (although that's usually done to package up more than one ringtone). You don't "install" ringtones, you copy the mp3 file to the phone (to the proper folder), then choose it from the ringtone or notification sound list.
