Help Need help with S5- tried everything!!

Hi everyone, new member here. I have been cruising the forum and got a ton of great tips (most of which I have used with success). So thanks!!

But there is the single problem I first came here to fix, and still cant figure out.

SOMETIMES my s5 is really slow and lags- for all operations, but most specifically for internet and fb.

I have done all the tweaks I can possibly find, including turning off animations, losing ssung keyboard for google, losing touchwiz for Nova, etc.

End result is that the ONLY thing that works is the reboot. I have gone a million times trying to kill all apps, erased so many different apps, anything I can think of. It really seems to happen is the phone hasnt been in use for a while (few hours or so). I basically turn it on, shoot right to internet (have used four or five different browsers hoping this would be it), and have serious lag. Like click a link from homepage and thing hangs for 60seconds plus. Click another link, same. Go to youtube app, same thing- doesnt even show the full start page for about 1-2 mins. Hit fb app, take about 10 minutes before it finishes loading all the newsfeed pics!!.

I get mad, restart, and the thing is like lightening!!

I really feel like it might just be something running in background that could be killed, but I havent been able to find it yet. (NOTE: only switched to Droid from iphones in May, otherwise always iphone so everything Droid is new to me)

I am just hoping it is something I can fix or does it need to be returned...

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Thanks for your reply. I havent tried a reset yet. I know it would make sense but because I have no idea how to recover all the info I have already on this thing, I am afraid to. I am still too new to Android. I'm hoping there is some service or something I can keep killing.

Make a backup. You're photos are saved to cloud and contacts to Gmail account. Simply reset it and then sign back in to Google account
