Need help with Tasker + Minimalistic Text for missed call/SMS

I'm trying to set up info on my lockscreen showing missed calls and texts. Initially when playing around with it, I had no problem getting it to show the variables from Tasker correctly. Somewhere, while trying to customize the look of my setup, it stopped pulling info from Tasker.

I have tried creating my own profiles and downloading others' from the internet. Tasker seems to have no problem running the profile when I get a text or miss a call and sets the variables correctly.

However, no matter what I do I cannot get Minimalistic Text to display the variable. It's always blank - not even 0. My variable for texts is %MISSMSG. Even if I set that variable to 1 myself and create a widget to display the data of that variable, I get absolutely nothing.

Not sure if the problem is Tasker not reporting it for some reason (it is "On") or Minimalistic Text not pulling it. Does anyone know what the problem is? Like I said, it did work at one point before I started attempting to customize the look.

well the guide on XDA shows a different variable for texts. the setup they use for an example is with chomp, if that makes a difference but the variable is %MSGCOUNT

forum.xda-developers [dot] com/showthread.php?t=944981 (grr need more posts) is a link to that guide.

on a related note you may be interested to try Missed it similar to the setup you are trying to get done now but suppose to be a lot easier. Its on the market, id link it but i need to post more :D
