Lurker
If my phone is not on the home screen when I lock it or it goes into saver mode, it becomes completely useless! I am not getting my emails, phone calls, texts, Whatsapps, etc. It's bizarre. I'll notice how quiet it is after a while, then wake it up, go to my home page, maybe go on the internet, then all of a sudden I get a bunch of emails/texts/missed calls/WhatsApp messages. Does anybody know what is going on? This may be true when I go into saver mode even on the home screen, not 100% sure. Please help.

Also, when I go into an elevator without service, it'll take the phone like 5-10 minutes to find service after I get out. I can't make calls or anything. Is there any way to force the phone to find service if I'm in an area that I know has service??

This has been the most disappointing experience since leaving Blackberry (otherwise a pleasant one). But I need my phone for phone calls and email first.

It sounds like somehow your phone is going into airplane mode when you momentarily press the power button. Then when it comes back on, all your emails and texts come in at once. On my phone, I'm given the airplane mode option when I press and HOLD the power button. I don't know of any settings that can change this but I'm sure there are apps that will change the way the power buttons functions.

It shouldn't matter which screen your phone is on when you lock it.

I have no idea why your phone does not regain service quickly when you get out of an elevator. Are you talking about voice service or data service? The signal must be a little weak since you're loosing it in an elevator.

Have you rebooted the phone (remove battery for a few minutes) and updated your profile and PRL in settings? This might help. Is the phone new? If it is, take it back. If not you can try a hard reset.

Hi guys, I've had the phone for at least 6 months. Voice and data are shut off for about 5 minutes when I lose service and come back to an area with service. The oddest though is how all of my emails are just stopped until I wake the phone up - even where I have plenty of service. I've done a battery pull and updated profile and PRL. Maybe a bad app?

It could be a bad app. You could try removing any suspected apps one at a time and see if it improves. Or it could be a side effect from rooting. Do you have a stock ROM?

Stock. Not rooted. Man i have so many apps I don't know where to start.

Usually it helps to start removing the last app installed & go backwards from there. I don't know if there's a way to see apps based on install date. Having a lot of apps makes the process a bit daunting.

If you go into the Samsung task manager you can see your downloaded app. You can then sort them by date. You can then delete apps to see if that solves the problem. Also go into your account settings and make sure auto sync and background sync are turned on. Hope that helps.
