How can I send video through texting? I always get an error saying it is too big to send

You need to make sure it compresses it, check your settings in your Text, also have you tried taking the video from within the text message,,rather then taking it from the video then saving it and sending it by text

Welcome to the forum. File size is very limited on sending a video MMS, it may just be the video is too large of a file that you are trying to send.
