I think there's a couple ways for you to do this, but here's the easiest (should work on all Android devices, I believe):
Go to your Settings app -> About phone -> Status -> IP Address.
Now, if you are on a local wifi network, it'll probably show you the IP address of your device on the local network.
Turning off wifi will show you your external IP address in the same area in the above Settings display.
You can also start-up the internet browser of your choice and go to a site like whatismyip.com or type "what is my IP" in a Google search.

edit: hmm, just checked both of those values on my device and they were different! The information in the whatismyip.com site seems to be more reliable than the information shown in the Settings area. Not sure why :dontknow:...
