Hi fellas,

Recently, I bought a Note 2 and got it's screen protected by a matte finish screen guard, as I've seen it reduces Note 2's real like clarity.. So, firstly which is the best screen guard to use for my device? Matte or the Glossy one ?

Secondly, as I use Matte screen guard I do hear a 'gshh' sound whenever I use my Pen, so just wanted to know that this screen guard won't damage my pen in any ways ?

Well, that's my both questions and I'll be glad if I get a reply ASAP and you're welcome to inform me with anything else you would like me to know as a new Note 2 Owner.

Hi, lots of tips and tricks on this forum, just do a quick search, as for the screen protector, I use the Spigen SGP ultra crystal protector, it is around 12 GBP and you get 2 of them, I am not familiar with the Matte screen guarde that you mention but the SGP is a great protector, hardly noticable.

I know Spigen is the 1st choice for all note 2 users but its products are not available in my country. So, that s why I need an alternative for it. Also, by matte I mean it's a matte finish guard. Waiting for more answers thanks

Matte screen protectors will definitely diminish the clarity of the screen and the colours will not be as vibrant. That is the drawback of using the matte protectors. Because of this, it can provide anti-glare properties. Also preventing finger smudges on the screen.

The crystal clear screen protectors will have glass attributes of the naked screen in most cases. Giving the same clarity and colour saturation. However, will have finger smudges and glare like a regular screen.

There is a difference when using matte and crystal clear screens with a stylus (based on my experience when using PalmOS and Windows Mobile devices of way back). The matte will feel like the stylus catches on the screen and the crystal clear ones will glide like actual glass. If you want a good protector, look up twister's review of the Seidio Vitreo tempered glass protector. It offers slightly better protection than gorilla glass with a hardness rating of 9H. I think gorilla glass is rated at 8H?

Either way, the matte is used for people who can't stand glare and finger smudges on the screen. But sacrificing screen clarity and duller colours.

I personally prefer crystal clear protectors as it offers the look and feel of a naked screen.
