Need instructions on how to setup Keepassdroid

Hello, this is my first post. If Im posting in the wrong section please move.

I am using a Htc cha cha with Gingerbread

I have downloaded Keepassdroid to my phone. I do not have Keepass on my Pc.

When I open Keepassdroid there is a file already selected called sd/mnt/keepass/keepass.kdb I am then given two options.
1 open
2 create

When I press open I am prompted to enter password and keyfile(optional). When I enter a password I get the message Format not recognised.

When I press Create it says the same thing.

How do I setup Keepassdroid. Ive seen it recommended as a good password manager but the lack of support and developer website makes me wonder if its worth bothering about.

I use the Password Manager app myself and can highly recommend it, unfortunately I have no personal knowledge of your problem.

Do you have to have Keepass on your Pc for it work on a phone

Sorry for bumping post but can anyone help with this Qs.

I use Lastpass for storing in the cloud but I want to have passwords saved on my ph also in case anything happened to Lastpass account.

Im surprised with so many using Keepassdroid that no one can help with setting it up or at least recommend a suitable alternative.

Sorry Overbyter. I missed that Password Manager was recommended in previous post. How secure is it?
