Here's the thing, what does your boyfriend do for internet access?

Given that the RCA 10 is a WiFi only device, you have to give it WiFi somehow. If you don't know the passwords for any available WiFi, you'll basically have to bring your own.

You can either tether your smart-phone to the tablet, using the phone's WiFi hotspot feature, so the tablet will be using the phone's internet. Or you can get a device called a MyFi, which is a portable WiFi hotspot you can carry around with you, speak to your carrier about those.

BTW here in China it's not exactly difficult to guess what many WiFi passwords might be, given that "8" or "88" are considered very lucky numbers in Chinese culture.
