Need New Phone with Good Signal Pickup. SG3?

I am a doctor who is required to be on call. I've owned a Galaxy Nexus since day one and LOVE it... but my signal issues have been horrible. I've rooted, I've updated, I've done everything... but I am still being plagued by Missed calls (phone will never ring) from my answering service... long story short. I'm changing carriers and phones.

Was on Verizon. Switching to ATT ( since the clinic is on that plan and paying for new phone)


I need a phone that has a reputation for decent reception. Does the SG3 fit that bill? (Nexus was poor from the start... drop from my Droid X... which was fine) Or do I need to look elsewhere and specifically at what?

My Sprint S3 has much worse signal pickup than my other Sprint phones.

But it's better than what my wife had with her iPhone on AT&T.

But her S2 on AT&T is better than my S3 on Sprint.
 
Signal strength is not poor but it could br better. I think if signal strength is your main motivation, I don't think this is the device for you.

To clarify though, I am talking about the international GSM version only. I cannot comment on the other models

All smartphones drop calls, for your job I'd get a phone that's just a phone, ie, no data whatsoever. You'll rarely drop a call with a basic phone.
 
I have the T-Mobile variant and I get really good reception (3-4 bars everywhere). I would expect the AT&T version to have similar performance on the GSM end.

This is actually a great idea to consider as I really would like to keep my Galaxy Nexus since I am stuck in that contract anyway... and other than reception REALLY like that phone!
 
I have the S3 on Verizon. Reception is comparably worse than my Motorola Droid Razr. I also work in a hospital and am having the same issue you are. I had little to no problems with the Motorola. Motorola has a reputation of making phones with good reception. I want to keep my S3 but I can't keep missing important calls.
