Need New Weather App

[stevcha]

So I noticed that Weatherbug has been causing high battery drain overnight. In Spareparts it shows high partial wake usage. I think the reason its causing this is because I have "always data on" disabled and WB is trying to refresh the weather during the night. I want to find a weather app that works with launcher pro and has a widget with a transparent background. Most of all doesn't have the partial wake issue. TIA!

If you like(d) WB, try turning off the updates and/or change the interval to a longer time. If it's using that much battery then you must have it set to update quite often.

Yeah, I have it set to update hourly.

You could use Tasker to disable the weatherbug updates overnight while you are asleep, and then enable them right before you wake up. This would minimize the battery drain.

You'll have to figure out which you want. You're telling the app to update hourly, but shutting off it's means (always on data) to do so. You're making the phone go in circles. Any other weather app will be the same thing. Any other auto updating app at all for that matter.

What's strange about WB is that the first night I had turned off "always data on" it didn't cause the high partial wake issue. My WB settings have been the same.

Thanks! Ill give that a try.

Weather & Toggle Widgets
$1.99 on the market

1. Has transparent backgrounds on widgets
2. Customizable to any zip code or current GPS location
3. Hyperlinks to detailed weather forecast (very nice) or any link you like
4. Other widgets available (that I don't use), that's what the "toggle" is for
