Good day
I'm new to this

There is a default Task and Memo app that comes with the phone, which I can't delete... as I do not like multiple apps on the phone which do the same thing,

Please tell me is there any way to sync the tasks I have in that default Task app(yellow paper background), to my gmail tasks?? I use gmail a lot and this would be useful. I know gtasks does this easily, but I'd like to use the one that's already on the phone as I like it's 'format' better as well.

is there also a way to get what's written on Memo synced somewhere into Gmail?

the default calendar app in the phone syncs automatically with the Gmail/Google calendar so I don't have problems with that.

Also if the default Task app isn't able to sync with the Tasks in Gmail, then why is there a settings option in the app that allows me to Sync with Gmail?? Where is it syncing to???

and lastly, if they really don't sync and I have to download another app if I want syncing of Tasks, then, is there any way I can delete all these default apps???

Please help, this is getting somewhat annoying... haha

Thank you kindly.

Hello and welcome to the forums. :D

Can you tell us which phone you have? There are wide variations in what apps manufacturers put on the devices.

When it comes to deleting some default apps, your best bet is to root the device and get Titanium Backup or something similar to uninstall or simply freeze an app you don't need.
There are also a bunch of custom roms that delete apps like that, and replaces it with something better

ahh sorry, I have the Samsung Galaxy S2...

what are 'roms'? I will try titanium backup, thank you:)

and again, does anyone know how to sync the default tasks app with gmail? there is a 'sync tasks' option in that app... but it does say sth like microsoft exchange activesync...

thanks!

oh and memos easily syncs to Google docs, no issues with that.
have some probs with the 'rooting' thing with backup though.
