Need some help deciding.

Sounds like a plan to me.

I am getting captivate tomorrow (hopefully).

If I'm happy with it I'll keep it.

If not something will be out I can test drive.

From what I can tell I'll be happy though. Whatever I get is gunna end up rooted as soon as I get home anyway.

If I had the 2 gig plan it would be rooted before I left store

LOL i would go back to the captivate if they at least gave it freakin froyo but thats not even on the plate yet.

Eh. For now.

I am happy enough to have android.

I personally am hoping they skip froyo.

Then go straight to gingerbread.

If gingerbread for capt and atrix were released same day..

I am willing to be samsung nay sayers would really evaluate whether ot not to toss the capt.

did u watch the video you may be right on something

I am not holding my breath on it.

I do think samsung owe's everyone a reasonable bugfix to the existing problems.

On the flipside I remember like yesterday when everyone was griping at google about froyo "When we gunna get eeeett!"

So I guess seeing people over the last year constantly complain about the next update no matter what it is has sorta numbed me to the "update madness"

However, all I am thinking is it seems like 2.2 would be a waste to update to since Froyo seems to be better on Snapdragons from what I've heard.. I would imagine "gingerbread" is more for hummingbird since thats what the nexus s is running.

I would like to think with nexus s running gingerbread.. the galaxy series could expect to be updated at least that far.

Then again I am wondering if they update one phone to a new os.. how much they really have to work to get it running on the rest..

*Edit* after watching the video..

I sometimes wonder what people really expect to get out of seeing how fast web pages will load x.x

This phone is seeming farther and farther from the superphone I was hoping it would be..

Yep. This is one of many videos I've seen. It is just an underwhelming device (as of right now). Maybe (hopefully) that changes, but I know what I'm getting with the Desire HD/Inspire 4G.

Also, after doing a lot of research on the battery, I'm comfortable with 1230 at this point, though I hope Seido releases a 1750 down the line like they did for the Evo.

Most of the battery issues, according to forum posts on here and elsewhere, had to do with skype/skynews app bumping OS battery usage to 60% (!).

Well. I'm out the race.

Hope you gentlemen manage to do well.

And the atrix does look a bit.. too plastic...

There ya go another who sees what i see in the looks. I mean even your captivate looks sleek and has that nice aluminum back. PS how you liking it?

I charged it to full and got 6 hours of battery life texting, making a few small downloads.

And playing with the screen like a nervous a.d.d. child on meth.

So 6 hours on my first charge I think is pretty good especially considering I've heard you have to "exercise the batteries" and it will get a little better over time.

I looked at the demo which just doesn't do the phone justice.. and when the lady took it out the box, I fell in love just about. It looks sleek and classy to me.

I don't have to kill myself to view text anymore either. If I ever wanted to scroll up on my lg neon even though it had threaded text.. it coudln't handle moving up more than one text at a time in a slow as dirt fashion.

I am... really.. well.. overwhelmingly content with it all around so far.

I am just trying to hunt down a good weather widget..

I read that that one is no longer available.

I also realized that I've sent over 200 messages since I took it off charger.. Soooo.. this bad boy actually delivers more battery than I thought on its first go round.

I doubt I will be able to go too far without a charger and browsing the web at school..

but, that is still pretty acceptable IMO.

I can probably get by on most days with no charger or a small charge while I'm in class.
