Root Need some help please

ICE17N24

Lurker
I really need some help. I tried to do this all on my own without asking anything but I am having some problems. Been reading forums for about two weeks.

Droid 1 Rooted today

I installed
Rom Mgr
TiBU
Quadrnt Stand
Busybox

Followed this
"Painless and Thorough ROM Switching in Under an Hour *Updated 6-28-10*"

Did Ti backup now I can't boot into recovery. All it is doing is giving me the Triangle with yellow exclamation point above phone.

Removed battery and powered on phone will work
BUT I can't get to recovery to flash the CyanogenMod 7.

It says the su binary is outdated

I am an NOOB and Don't know what to do.

I know most of you guys have newer phones but Any help is appreciated.

Dana

Welcome to Android Forums, Dana!:)
You have come to the right place, and we are glad to help whenever we can.

I do not know rooting myself, but I have moved your thread into the "root" section of the Droid forum so that you can get the help you need.

Update. Have Cynomod saved on sd.

Tried when the little triangle with the ! shows up I hit the UP volume + camera at the same time to open a new menu.

I picked the option to reset to factory.. but no luck still boots into triangle screen no boot screen.

Tried naming the CYmod update.zip then selected it after following above no luck says E:abort

Any help is appreciated, please, prudy please

Got it working. I am still having problems. I have the CyanogenMod7 running but I don't know how to sync my google account, play, etc and to get my apps back from TiBU.

Any help appreciated

The easiest thing to do would be to use ROM manager to get the G Apps missing and it will download them and install them for you. To sync your Google Account go to settings and then choose the Accounts option and login from there....you may want to enable your WiFi for speedier results before syncing your Google account. After that things will start updating in the background and you should see a difference. That is what I do anyways... I always skip the initial setup when installing a new ROM and enable my WiFi first and then go to Accounts under settings... just sets up a little faster and smoother that way... plus with ROM Manager you will have a lot of cool ROMs, Kernels, Themes, etc. right there at your fingertips available to download via ROM manager... you may need to purchase ROM manager from Google Play to access all of it's full features but this app is a must have if you plan on exploring the world of customization on your Android phone.

Good luck and I hope I helped you out! :D

Thanks ironmask
