I was thinking since I get her on May 2nd and here in Canada, we are holding our federal elections. I was gonna name her after the winning party. 'Harpie' if it's Harper's Conservatives, 'Jackie' if it's Jack Layton's NDP, 'Iggy' or 'Mikey' if it's Michael Ignatieff's Liberals or 'Ducey' if it's Gille Ducette's Bloc Quebecious (Although, hell will freeze over or I'm moving to Antarctica if BQ win)

I think that's a great idea actually. Might as well name her Ducey right now, since the results of the elections are pretty obvious.

I've always liked when animals get real names, it makes it much more funny. I don't know, I just hate regular pet names. Especially when people talk to animals with a weird "baby voice".

I don't think dogs know the difference between male/female names. Plus, I don't get why people hate politicians so much. If more Canadians got involved, maybe it would get better.

I need a name for the newest addition to our family- a staffordshire/ american bulldog mix. She's only 3 weeks old so we have some time to think of a name. Now, the breeders nick named her moomoo but yeah... no. I suggested Princess but my husband doesn't like it. We have agreed on Sweetpea but I'm just wondering if there's another name out there.

So my parameters are this;

• I don't want a human name. Too weird.
• I don't want a typically dog name like Lady-- it's boring.
• It has to be feminine but not too assertive.

LOOK AT THAT FACE!!! I just want to squeeze it!!

It's simple and minimalistic. And I betcha won't find a dog (or any other living creature) in your neighbour with a similar name.
