Root Need some help with rooting with ICS

Ok for the most part the program I used roots the phone but then if I turn it off, and back on, I get a security error and then I have to redownload ICS and it completely erases all my apps and puts the phone back in stock.

I cant post the picture I really wanted to show but anyways I used a program from another topic on this forums called LG Spectrum ICS made by jcase.

When the program runs it goes through it fine but every time this line of text comes up and idk what it means.

'#' is not recognized as internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
[*] Installing root tools...
remount succeded
1399KB/s <22364 bytes in 0.015s>
link failed File exists
etc bytes
etc bytes
'#' is not recognized as internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
[*] Cleaning up...
[*]Rebooting one last time...
[*]Root complete, enjoy!
[*]Press any key to exit.

Could someone explain to me what to do? I don't wanna keep doing this cause its aggravating, when I was in GB it worked fine with a root and now its all screwed up.:(

Use the verified method posted in this forum. It will probably do better. Looks like that one is trying to run as root and it can't.

I used the verified method and I got the error messege that NewDroidUser got. And now every time I touch the screen, digital lines shoot across from sides to the x and y coordinates of my touch spot and stay on the screen. This CAN'T be normal!! any advice?

This can be enabled by checking an option in Developer options. you should be able to disable it if it is checked.

Settings - developer options - uncheck "Show Touch Data"

OK another noob question... what should I look for that notates the phone as being rooted other than my knowledge of having run the script?

Go into Apps, open Superuser,(swipe right), and attempt to update the SU binary (should say "tap to update"....if not, swipe to the "other" right. :P).

...if it works, you have root.

Also, due to the strange behavior of having a dev-option enabled, I would suggest a factory reset...just to clear up anything else that might be lingering about.

Root will remain through the reset.

The error you are seeing is because PG is better at writing scripts for linux then for windows. In linux "#" means to not show a line. Windows doesn't obey that rule, so it tries to read the line, which in reality is just the header for that section of the script. Also, remount is suceeded, so you should be SU no and good to go.

This is what I got. I assume I have root... Titanium backup is allowing me to freeze apps, etc.
By factory reset, do you mean simply using "volume down + Power" combination? And should I do a titanium backup of all user and system apps first?

*Update* Ok I've downloaded the 2 files for v6 and I have CWM or ROM manager installed on my phone its currently rooted. I extracted and copied the file v6 stock_noroot file into the CWM backup folder I had to create cause it didnt have a backup folder and the other file directly into the SD card like the directions said. Now when I go to reboot recovery in CWM it restarts the phone and I get a screen looking like this:

---------------------------------------
Secure booting Error!
Cause: boot certification verify
---------------------------------------
---------------------------------------
Enter the fastboot...
Enter the fastboot...

Long time no see!
---------------------------------------

What do I do to go back to GB or v6?? I really would rather stick to GB than go to ICS.:(

Read this section of the first post at that link:

The situation: You are on ICS, but hate the locked boot loader or hate something about ICS (wifi tethering being broke, etc).

hey, im getting the same error as newdroiduser, the process ive been going through is usb push the v7 update to my phone while in download mode. that works fine, then i use the bootloader pwnage tool which successfully gives me root, however when i go to install CWM and reboot to try a new rom i get the same secure booting error as above. Not sure how else to apply one of the new roms if CWM cant be used on V7, or should i push my phone to V6 and then just flash the ROM from CWM on that?

update: pushed V4 over USB then applied the old AIO, flashed new debloated ROM with CWM, checking now to see how root and CWM are working
edit: root is intact

What method are you using to install CWM? If you're using the pwnage tool, it installs automaticaly. If it's not installing, you're not unlocked, period. If in doubt, run the pwnage tool and then use rommanager or another similar method to boot into recovery. If you get into CWM, you did it right. If you just see an android and go back into a wiped OS (/data gone), then you did it wrong.

hm any idea why root would install but not the bootloader unlocker? however this seemed to work fine as of now, im running an older version of CWM (5.8.2.0) but it boots into that fine and i have root access with ICS. Not sure if i should try to update my CWM to the latest version or not

Did you put the Bootloader folder in C:\? That's the only place it would actually work for me. Some other people aren't having that problem but it sounds like you are.

just got it working, once i placed the bootloader in C:\ it worked like a charm lets see how well it works though. My laptop didnt want to push a clean V7 so i went from a V6 to a V7 rom, then used the bootloader pwnage tool

That doesn't work. You don't get the new radio files unless you take the full V7 update. Granted, you are technically on ICS, but you're missing out on the better radio. Also, if you're on V6 and using a V7 rom, then you don't need to use the pwnage tool as you never locked your bootloader.
