lolz nope. but ive read that when the pone bricks or somehting stops working on its own htc wont replace the device....

Odd, must say I've read the opposite, being in the country of the company you're buying from, if anything, should give you extra rights over me in the UK... surely Google are obliged to replace it as per your consumer rights, as you have a contract of sale?

If you've rooted the phone, they won't replace it, even if it's a manufacturing defect. So if you root and somehow manage to brick it (I have no idea if that's even possible, rooting my phone hasn't even occurred to me to be something I might want to do) you will not be able to get it replaced under warranty.

They will still fix hardware faults for a fee, I expect :)

This is true and you can replace your phone in the US. You get 14 days everywhere BUT cali. Cali gets 30 days grace period. As long as your phone hasnt been dropped, water damage etc you can send it in for a repair. This of course doesnt mean wait 13 days and call in and say I opened the box and the screen was cracked.

Never root your phone and call for a replacement

new york. no store..... just a call..... but i heard its nearly impossible to return the device ....

I returned mine with no problems and no arguments. Just told them I loved the device but the TMo coverage wasn't good enough for me. RMA'd it right away.

I fully intend to get one on Verizon as soon as it is available. For the moment I've got a Droid, and I'm playing with a Palm Pre as well.
