Root Need to backup app data

I have a stock DInc2 . I would like to be able to use something like Titanium backup to save my app data (specifically the silly games that I've made a lot of progress in ;) ) . Is there a way to get a certain level of root access that is enough to run Titanium BU without wiping the phone? I tried to go through the HTCDev unlocker, but it's warning indicated the phone would be wiped "to protect my data". :stupid:

Right now, I'm not particularly worried about S-OFF or installing a custom rom, although I may want to do that in the future. I just want to get a data backup so that I can move that data to a new phone or to a tablet.

Thanks!

what software build are you on? if youre on 6.01.605.05 or older,it could possibly be temp rooted, and either the data partition dumped,or superuser pushed so that you could use titanium.

i know "my backup pro" will backup apps, but i dont think it will back up app data. might check in to that.

if youre on the newer 6.04.605.7,then i dont believe there is a known temp root method. :(
