Xfinity (from Comcast) has a phone app - XfinityConnect - which notifies my phone (GS3) anytime a call is placed to/from my home phone. The notification app keeps my phone on, awake til I perform some action with the phone. Unfortunately, my phone could be unattended in my briefcase all day - draining battery juice.
I like X-Connect, but not the fact that a notification process can keep my phone awake. How can I disable that process and save power?

You can disable the whole app via Settings > Apps, select the app and select disable.

Unless the app has some setting to control the notification, I don't know of a way to disable just that feature but otherwise allow the app to run.
