Help Need to push really hard to power on

C3Pdroid

Newbie
When I first got my tablet, I powered it on and put it on standby flexibly with the power button without any problems.

Recently however, I took my tablet inside its original carton box inside my backpack out to the city. That's when the problems started happening. I got beeped by two alarm devices in two stores (they have RFID scanners I guess). It was probably because my carton box had RFID codes on it.

When I get back home, I power it on holding in the power button for 2 seconds as usual. Nothing happens. Maybe the battery was dead? So I plugged it in the socket. Nothing happened. It usually would light up. Finally after holding in the power button for 5 seconds it booted up. Very strange.

So from now on I have to put a very strong amount of pressure on the power button for two seconds if my tablet wants to boot up. Otherwise it won't. I don't understand why. Did the store scanners mess up my tablet with their possible magnets? I'm worried. It's an annoyance because every time I want to power up my tablet I have to apply great pressure on the power button (understatement). This is not really convenient.

Any ideas what's going on with my tablet?

Thanks

I had power button issues. I didn't realize it but at first it was never working quite right, but after the ICS lock ups, I had more issues and sent it in. It was a physical defect for me that they fixed. Had I known the button was supposed to work that well I would've sent it back ages ages LOL Good luck!

I fixed it more or less (but not completely) by having brightness set to auto. Then the tablet is more responsive. I also read on some other threads that it may be apps causing the lockups (such as apps that have the permission to control sleep state etc.) by corrupting the sleep state.

Mine must be different because mine was an actual hardware issue, not software. I had no other issues other than the actual button wasn't working quite right.
