Help Need to recover contacts

I deleted my old account a while back, but recently unsynced it from my phone so it could download apps. Well, like a fool, I forgot that my contacts were synced with the account and not the phone itself.
I just got a phone number a couple of days ago, and just unsynced it this morning, so I am in a really tight pinch (need the number ASAP).
I have a droid turbo 2, Verizon, unrooted, Android 6.0. All of my texts stayed, but they only showed the #'s (unfortunately the number was a landline, and I never called it, so no way to trace it that way). Thanks so much!

You have to start from scratch. There's nothing better that can be suggested.

However, if you do this often, you can back up your contacts as VCF or CSV so you can manually import them if you're wary of storing them with Big Brother Google.

Otherwise whatever you had, there is no other process.
