Root Need updating HELP

ChazBayer

Lurker
OK so I am somewhat of a new Android user. Going on about 3 months now and loving every minute of it. I was a BB and iPhone user but got into Android ages ago. When I first got into I knew I had to have the Google Nexus One. But to get it in Canada is very hard for my carrier.

I did find my phone from someone. He got it right from google when it was being offered to Canadian residents. He also used the same carrier as me, and told me when I got it it was rooted and unlocked. Current setup is :

Android Version : 2.2
Basband version : 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7
Kernel Version : 2.6.32.9-27227-g3c98b0d
android-build@apa26 #1
Build Number : FRF91

Now when I heard the 2.2.1 update was out I seemed to have not got it in time. Everytime I try to find a manual link location it turns out to be poop and I never get it.

The issue im having is every week at least twice a week, I get a system update notification. And everytime when I try to recieve it I get the usual triangle with the exclamation point with the froyo logo and the arrow. The errors I get are one of two, the first is normally signature verification, but then when I toggle verification OFF i get the file cannot be found error. So it seems as though its not even downloading it at all. Its not on my SDCard and its not in any root directory.

Can anyone help me? Like I said I didnt do the unlock or the root on this unit. BUT when I got the phone it worked on my carrier and my 3G was stable and fast so I didnt care.

Thoughts?

Thanks I will try that now.

UPDATE :
