But i couldnt find how to just enable it on the fly like that... Am i missing something? Thanks for the help. I am TOTALLY knew to all androids and smartphones. I heard this was a really helpful place so i am trying it out lol

If your friend is trying to use facetime then it is only IOS device to IOS device. You'll have to both download skype or something similar.

Right. You don't have Facetime.

But even then, I can't get skype video calls to work. The camera loads for a second, then reverts to a voice call.

Ah, haven't tried skype yet with it, figured it would work. Anyone know of an app the OP can use until skype gets fixed?

Hopefully it's just a small 4.0 bug that Skype can work out. Though they've had ICS in their hands in other countries for a few weeks now. I'll check the skype developer blog.
