In the Camera app settings there is a button for Recording Mode, which is set to Normal by default. When I tap on it, Smooth Motion is at the bottom of the list of choices that pops up. It seems to stay set that way after closing and re-opening the camera. Have you tried doing that?

I really don't think there is a way to change the default Video Mode for the camera.

The person above me is right, it will stay with your selection but only until your phone COMPLETELY closes the app (Not running in the background) after it will end up going back to your default "Normal Mode"..

If anyone finds out to change it let me know, I wouldn't mind having Smooth Motion as my default either. It's amazing. Now if only YouTube played videos back in 60fsp instead of 30fps!

your right once I close out of the app it defaults back to normal mode if I do find out if smooth motion can be set as default I will let you know
