Ok, so i got my Ally w/ a 2 yr contract not knowing whats what with android and such. Didnt know what specs were. So i had my ally since last July. I have basically 10 months to go thru. (The other 2 im gonna be in S. Korea so i didnt count those). My monthly allowance is $10. Used to be 40 but i have to pay for unlimited data. Should i just bolt and get a dif phone or just stick out? Rite now i have $200. So what do u guys think would b wisest? Im 14 btw if that my sway your answer

If you aren't getting use out of the unlimited data, you could purchase a used "feature" phone, or maybe activate an older one you or a family member has lying around. That would let you drop the unlimited data.
$200 isn't going to get you a full retail smartphone, but you could save that to pay for a new one when you have an upgrade available. It would also probably get you a pretty decent used older model, like an original Motorola Droid.

i dwnlded craigslistnotica and found dincs for 150~. Too bad my mom wont let me buy. I might save my money for some high end phone.

Rooted this little phone isnt bad. great considering it was the cheapest android phone i could find. im planning on just waiting til the end of the year and getting something new then. you could try to sell her on that asurion is having open enrollment now so if you got a dinc youd have insurance, just a thought

Til april 28th i think. If you are really looking into it id double check that. And if you are coming up on an upgrade then you would be able to find something. If not youll still be stuck buying used. Look at how much a NEW dinc is, still $350+ish.
this is the only chance to get a used one AND get insurance cuz i dont think youd have any sort of warranty. Then no matter what happens, break it, take it swimming you get a new (probably refurb) is $90 instead being completely out a phone.
i am only assuming you will be able to get it. Id double check before you buy a phone if you are planning on doing that.

If you have to pay the 30 bucks for data and you only get 10 a month income i'd say activate a feature phone. Could you still carry the android as a wifi device? Not sure if it works like that.
But the thing is i go out a lot so i need the data. I use like 2~ gigs every month

It's your decision, and it seems like you feel like it's worth it to you. If so, then keep it. I'm not sure what alll you use it for, but updating facebook and simple stuff like that wouldn't be worth going over my budget.
I convinced my dad( he came home from pennysylvania) and hes buying me a tbolt. My moms gonna upgrade and gimme it while she keeps her old phone

Well you'll get a new phone, but that doesn't change the fact that you'll be going over budget by 20 bucks a month. You said you have 200 in the bank. In 10 months you'll be penniless.
My moms gonna pay for that. The conditions were that i have to be nice to my little. No hurting. No anything to him. So i still get $10 everymonth.
