Needed: A BerryBuzz Program for Android

There is a potentially lucrative opportunity for an app developer to come up with an Android app that allows the user to receive repeat aural notifications at a specified interval (adjustable by the user) for new SMS, missed calls, and voicemail messages etc.

My "dumbphones" have always had this capability and it continues to astound me that this ability of offer repeated aural notifications for incoming communications has not been a feature of the OS in all smartphones!

I agree it's a glaring oversight in the Android OS, but there are plenty of ways to get this functionality. To use Tasker for this you'll need to Missed Notification Reminder profiles from the Tasker Wiki. It's not a one-stop solution, and the profiles may require some tweaking to get them working properly on your device, but it works and is reliable. You can also expand upon the profiles to generate repeating notifications for other apps that aren't monitored by the included profiles.

There may also be similar Tasker profiles that will do what you want too.

Tasker can do so much more than this, so if you're at all interested in automating things on your phone, you should check it out.

I had the BerryBuzz app on my Storm and thought it was a great application. A lot of the phones are limited on what colors they display. They are not as versatile as on the Blackberrys.

It is not the changing LED colors that I covet... it is the simple repeat aural notifications for a SMS, VM, missed call and so forth. My old phone used to give me a chime every minute (or whatever I set) for a missed call, VM, text...

Done a little research... anyone have any experience with Easy Reminder? Also, there is a new (I think) app called Edictify... anyone tried it, by any chance?

I use Easy Reminder. I had the same problem... I just dont get how reminders arent built into these phones. I bought BerryBuzz for my BB (one of the very few apps I actually paid for), and use Easy Reminder on my Epic. It will get the job done for you.

I installed a free program Easy Reminder... it allows for repeat aural or vibrating notifications for SMS and missed calls. The repeat notification can be set to recur until you acknowledge the SMS or missed call. You can also set the time interval between notifications from between one minute to one hour.

Too bad this app does not seem to take care of repeat notifications for VMs!

After a month of using Easy Reminder, it has not presented any issues and it does what I wanted it to do... keep notifying me about a text message until I read the message.

I also have an app called Voicemail Notifier which does the same thing, more or less, for VMs, repeated notifications until acknowledged.

Any updates on this old subject. I still use Easy reminder for texts and missed calls on my new Droid Mini but I would love an app that would give repeat aural notifications about a voice mail. Anything new in this part of the Android world since this thread last had activity in 2011?

Check out LightFlow. It is very configurable and will do what you want and much more.

You can try the light (free) version to see if it works for you. You'll need the paid version for voicemails. It's well worth the 2 or 3 bucks though.
