Needing advice

Hello everyone, I'm new here and am in need of some advice. I'm a long time customer of Verizon and have used a BB curve for the past two years. I had made up my mind I was going to purchase an Android device from Verizon during the month of January, however, now Verizon has begun to carry the IPhone. I've never used an IPhone or an Android device and am not sure which to buy. I realize there are dedicated users of both phones but thought perhaps I could get an unbiased opinion of a few people on here----perhaps someone who has used both the IPhone and an Android.

I text only occasionally but enjoy going on the web on my phone (it's really a hassle to do so on the BB). Any advice anyone could offer me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have used all three phones! BB Curve 8530,Iphone 3GS,and many android phones. The Iphone got boring after i J/B it. There is simply nothing more to do with it. I have rooted all of my Android phones and never got bored with them. There are endless possabilitys with the Android phones. Im not going to tell you what to do but i would go with an Android phone.

Thank you for your quick response. You've certainly given me something to think about. I had considered buying the Samsung Galaxy (I thought the super amole screen would be great) but now Verizon is coming out with several new Androids (as evidenced by the CES show) that it's difficult to know which to choose.

Samsung 4G LTE Smartphone – Android 2.2, Google Mobile services, including Google Search™, Google Maps™ and Gmail™, YouTube™, brilliant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen display, powerful 1GHz application processor, HTML5 Web browser, rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera to support video chat capabilities, Samsung Social Hub and Media Hub. Im thing about getting this one.

Do you know when Verizon will have this available? I'd love to go in and play with it. It sounds great and when my area gets switched to LTE, this phone will not be outdated. Sounds like it will be good for at least two years.

Do you know the name of this Samsung? I can hold off and keep using my BB curve until the middle of the year.
Thank you much for taking your time to answer my questions. You've been a tremendous help to me and I certainly appreciate it.

Welcome to the Android Forums!

Don't expect to see LTE phones on Verizon till mid-year at the earliest. And when they do show up Verizon will likely stagger their announcements over a period of several months.
