Network branding?

Hi.
I was wondering what the network branding situation is like on current high-end Android phones like the S2, Note and Sensation.

I bought my original Desire through a third party but on contract with Orange two years ago. If Orange can do a decent upgrade deal I'd stay with them but really don't like the idea of my phone being bloated with crap.

Also considering waiting for the S3 but I imagine the situation will be the same as the other high end phones. As I understand the Nexus should be bloat/crap-ware free but I don't really fancy it so It's not a choice.

Thanks.

If the situation in the UK is anything like it is here in Canada, I don't think there's any way of avoiding the network branding on anything that has to use a SIM card....As far as the bloating/crapware issues, the only way I have found of getting rid of that is by rooting the device.

If you get your phones direct from the networks, it will generally have network software on it. You might get lucky (as I did with my Desire HD) and end up getting an unbranded handset. I got mine from the local Orange shop very close to launch and was fortunate enough to get the only unbranded in the shop.

If you get from places like Carphone Warehouse or Phones4U, the phones will almost always be unbranded and free of network software. Most of the time they're released quicker via 3rd Parties too as you're not waiting for the networks to put their "bloat" on there.
