Is this a mobile data connection or WiFi? Under what circumstances did it happen (especially if you are in a situation where it might have changed hotspots, or indeed mobile networks if roaming is a possibility)?
The most likely explanation is that your network did change, or at least was disconnected and reconnected. Knowing only what you have written it's hard to say more.
