Hi I recently discovered my phone had been out of network for around 2 days, so I hard reset sim out and back in etc, following this the sd card failed with a message saying sd card is damaged try to reformat it.

Anyone else had this or can shed light on it? I've read about sd cards getting hot could there be a Link?

UK Vodafone sgs5 rooted not updated to latest firmware/droid
Lexmark 32gb class 10sdhc

Thanks..

Don't know about hot, SDs don't usually get hot or have other heat problems. However it could be a sign it's going bad, how long have you had it, because they have a finite life and do eventually wear out. On the other hand it could just have been a glitch, maybe it wasn't seated correctly, contacts dirty, file system got corrupted, etc.

Thing is, make sure it's backed up, things like irreplaceable photos, videos, documents, etc.

Yeah with the 55gb drop box it's easy to back up, it is legit can't remember where from nut it's no dud, I've had it for couple of years in my old tab2 then popped it in here the s5, just seems a big coincidence the 2 occurrences happened together..

Be aware there are many counterfeit SDs around, especially brands like Samsung and Sandisk. So if you do get one "cheapish", I strongly suggest you test it first, using something like H2testw, etc.
it's legit, my mates a buyer for a big firm he can get these things cheap..
