[FIX - Confirmed] Aosp network location fix

anyone else try this? i thot i was fine, but turned off gps in location and security and my beautiful widgets weather location turned into "ramsey" wherever that is,it was 64* there :p

so first i tried replacing networklocation.apk in gapps 20110828 and wiping cache/dalvik. no dice. so i mounted system r/w and installed it inside system/app. seemed to work at first, but would revert back to ramsey if i changed anything in settings/location and security and id have to mount system r/w and install again to get it to say dayton.

followed the directions in post 10 and still no dice. mounted system r/w again and installed... seems to be sticking so far.

guess ill give it a couple days and see wat happens. soon as i go somewhere else, ill see if it changes.

just curious if anyone else had any success.

yeah i usually leave gps on all the time, too. i didnt realize i had any issues till i saw this and turned it off to see what happened

i had applied the other gps fix to cm7,and my maps location is accurate to 9m. guess that doesnt have anything to do neccesarily with network location ;)

wierd thing was, beautiful widgets stuck on ramsey, even when trying to force gps to geolocate.

No way I would try this. My location is only accurate on aosp. All sense Roms I have tried shows me about 60 miles away from my real location.
